Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) believes that personal meaning of our self, relationships and life experiences emerges through the deciphering and self-organisation of our emotional experience. We don’t simply have emotion, we live constantly processing and making sense of our feelings and the associated underlying needs. This subsequently directs us in our actions and connections with others. In EFT, distinctions between different types of emotion, including recognition of stuck emotional patterns, provides therapists with a map for structured and focused intervention. EFT therapists will work closely alongside you to help you become aware of, accept, make sense of and transform emotional patterns and experience.
