Professional Background:
Catrin has over five years of experience working within the NHS. She currently serves as a consultant on the Personality Disorder pathway, where she provides support, treatment, and care for individuals facing personality-related challenges. In addition to her NHS role, she collaborates with a charity dedicated to helping people manage intrusive and distressing thoughts.
Her clinical work primarily focuses on individuals who have experienced developmental or long-term trauma, and those whose behaviours—often high-risk in nature—are negatively impacting their lives. These behaviours may include self-harm, emotional dysregulation, substance use, and intrusive thoughts. Catrin’s therapeutic approach begins with helping clients understand the roots of their behaviours and then guiding them through the healing process.
Therapeutic Approach:
Catrin integrates Schema Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into her practice. She also draws on her training as a yoga teacher to incorporate mindfulness and relaxation techniques, which she finds highly effective when paired with psychological interventions. Her therapeutic ethos centres on creating a relaxed, non-judgemental, and flexible environment.
Location and Availability:
Based in Nottinghamshire, Catrin offers therapy both online and in person.
