Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
A well-established short term therapeutic approach for the focused treatment of trauma and PTSD.
EMDR is a therapeutic approach designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic memories or distressing experiences. EMDR combines elements of cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), exposure therapy, and the use of bilateral stimulation (typically through eye movements), which can help the brain integrate traumatic memories in a healthier way.
EMDR is particularly effective for trauma-related disorders, such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), but can also help with anxiety, depression, and other emotional difficulties.
There is a strong evidence base for EMDR in relation to trauma related conditions.
